Victim Support is looking for a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA), this is a full time role on a fixed term contract until 31/03/2023. This role will be managing a new and exciting team delivering specialist services across Bedfordshire from Luton or Bedford. Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity providing a range of specialist services to people who have been affected by crime across England and Wales. Working for VS gives you the opportunity to play a key role in a national charity providing high quality services to victims and witnesses and being a vital force for change.The main purpose of the job is to effectively manage and develop a high quality, innovative and pro-active domestic abuse service for victims and their children, including those at highest risk. You will need to ensure that the service prioritises the safety, security and dignity of service users and their children. The role would also include you being the lead in crisis situations and to provide advice and guidance on safeguarding issues and information sharing concerns.To be successful in this role, you will need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on victims and their children, and the legal and practical remedies available to these clients. Experience managing frontline staff as well as having a good understanding of the IDVA role.
