Production/Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Reading /Basingstoke area

Salary: £26,500 - £35,000 (dependent on skills and experience) + Allowance

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or apprentice trained engineer who is looking to pursue their career in a Production/Manufacturing role.

AWE offers a tailored blend of training and development opportunities for Engineers across Nuclear and Conventional facilities. In this role you will:

  • Support Production operations

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities

  • Help optimise productivity and reduce cost

  • Support the creation and configuration of manufacturing process documentation (designs, drawings, reports, specifications) in accordance with appropriate procedures

  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player

To apply for the role, we will be looking for candidates to demonstrate:

  • Minimum qualification of either a C&G in a technical discipline or NVQ level 3. An accredited degree (with honours) in an engineering related discipline is desirable but not essential

  • General knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes which may include machining, presswork, inspection, moulding, joining, non-destructive evaluation, design or welding

  • A background in manufacturing with knowledge/understanding of materials, manufacturing techniques and processes

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • An understanding of UK Health and Safety Legislation in a Manufacturing or Production environment including quality standards, best practice and procedures

  • An ability to produce or assist in the production of Manufacturing Documentation (designs, drawings, reports, specification and operating instructions)

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
