Provide 24x7 application support for the Electricity Balancing Mechanism System (EBS). The role supports the prevention of system incidents that could lead to a loss of network control, resulting in potential breach of NG license to operate.

You would be expected to assist senior team members in incident management processes as appropriate to resolve system faults and ensure service restoration to agreed SLA timeframes.

Learn day to day support activities, including daily system health checks, reporting, initial diagnosis of issues and supporting the day-to-day needs of control room operations staff and other end users. Supporting this CNI System operation may include serving on an on-call rota during non-business hours based on competency which will be regularly assessed.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential
Qualifications Essential (at appointment): Degree\/Higher educational qualification, followed by (based on grade applied for) IT experience. ITIL V3 (Minimum of foundation, higher preferred)
SAFe.
Knowledge in AIX, Windows, Web based Applications, Tomcat, JBoss, Java and PL\/SQL.

Desirable
Linux
Desirable: Knowledge in ServiceNow and Jazz RTC Tools.
ITIL Practitioner.
SC Cleared.

Understanding of the requirements for supporting mission critical systems. methodical and positive approach to problem solving. well organised with a technical bias; Experience of working effectively both individually and as part of highly productive small to medium sized teams in an Infrastructure\/Application ITIL based support environment.

Understand the impact of both security and external regulations that impact operational technology systems (CNI).

Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle is desirable.

Demonstration of accountability to see issues through to successful resolutions. Experience of producing technical reports\/documentation for a non technical\/technical audience.

Electricity Control Room business domain knowledge is desirable.
