Job description

BP Pulse (BPP) is the UK's leading electric vehicle charging company. It operates the UK's largest charging network (Polar) of over 7,000 public charge points, 60,000 customers, supplying and installing around 1,000 home charging "wallboxes" each month, employing 350 employees and have over 10 years of experience in charge point manufacture and installation.
BP, a $130 billion company with 80,000 employees globally, acquired Chargemaster in July 2018 as an important step to execute its electrification strategy and aspiration to provide the fastest and most convenient network of charging delivered through exceptional customer experience and innovative offers and services.
The intent is to grow the business significantly in the future, both in UK and to expand into other priority geographies to create the strategic platform for future growth.

Some of the main responsibilities:

  • Electrical qualifications essential
  • PCB analysis experience advantageous
  • Field service engineering experience including but not limited to fault finding and diagnosis
  • Electro-mechanical repairs knowledge and experience
  • To carry out risk assessments and adhere to method statements
  • To ensure installations are correctly identified by type
  • To ensure electrical installations are compliant to Electrical regulations
  • To ensure current processes established on site are adhered to.
Rquirements:
  • Qualified electrician with electrical maintenance experience
  • Customer / consumer focused
  • Understanding of electrical certification and submission
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of distribution boards/ power cabinets
  • Experience dealing with AC/DC voltage safely and isolation procedure
  • High level organisational and planning skills, effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships
Qualifications:
  • JIB recognised UK competency-based qualification (electrotechnical Level 3 NVQ or a formal UK electrotechnical apprenticeship)
  • IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified (BS7671:2018)
  • 2919-1 Level 3 in Domestic, Commercial & Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging equipment installation or equivalent
  • ECS card (Maintenance Electrician or electrician
  • Driving License
