Job description

Principal Process Engineer - Permanent Staff - Biofuels - Home working with some international travel

Our client is one of the world's leading investors and technology developers in the advanced biofuels and circular economy chemicals sectors. The company owns a number of plants, some of which are operating successfully, with others being in the process of design and build. A unique opportunity has now emerged for an experienced Process Engineer to support the group's activities on a Europe-wide basis. You will sit at the heart of the company's technical operations, playing an important role in supporting both new and existing plants. Specifically, you will:

- Oversee the development of new renewable process plants from design to construction and operation.
- Manage the application and acquisition of permits.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to oversee project development.
- Carry out or supervise technical calculations.
- Exercise daily judgement and engineering decision making expertise in a dynamic environment where priorities and timeframes may shift.

To be successful in the role you will have:
- A degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar
- Significant experience post-grad in both operations and project environments
- Significant sector experience in chemicals, biofuels or oil & gas
- First class communications and interpersonal skills
- The ability to deliver outcomes undirected and with minimal supervision
- The experience and desire to be hands-on, plant-based where necessary and lead from the front
- A strong process engineering background covering energy & mass balances, P&IDs, pressure relief
- A demonstrable track-record in delivering projects from design through to commissioning

The role will be home based although access/regular meetings at an office in the North West will be required. In addition there will be international travel expected around 25% of the time, which may increase over time. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where individual autonomy and influence is expected. The opportunity will be yours to exert a real influence over some major projects in the renewable/circular economy chemicals sectors. A highly competitive salary is on offer for the right candidate
