Job description

A perm opportunity exists for an experience career Highways Agent on a major highways infrastructure project. Previous experience working for a tier one, principal Contractor on highways scheme, preferable for Highways England, is sought after. Emphasis will be placed on junction remodelling, retaining walls, dualling of A routes and Traffic Management.

Duties will include -

Managing and providing leadership to the Engineering team

Ensure that H&S, Quality and Environmental issues are managed

Set targets and KPI's in line with key outputs and monitors performance

Chair weekly team meetings to review performance on site

Chair weekly cost meetings and identify improvement areas and allocate appropriate actions to team members

Prepare a cost plan and manage cost v value

Involved in the procurement of subcontractors

Produce the risk schedule

Requirements for this opportunity include -

Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineer or similar, CSCS, SMSTS

Professional accreditation or working toward it

A career highways Engineer with extensive highways construction experience for tier one or principal Contractors.

Highly knowledgeable on the NEC and commercially astute

Proven management and leadership skills couple with a strong work ethic
