Job description
Seven Education is looking appoint motivated, proactive and hard-working Learning Mentors who are committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEN and/or disability and their families to work in a brand-new residential provision based in Chester on a full-time permanent basis.
The role:
The role of the Learning Support Mentor worker involves fully supporting the daily needs of our young people to deliver the highest quality of care to those who reside in the Residential Setting which will accommodate up to 30 children aged 8-19 years, providing a high standard of accommodation and support that extends our school-based learning through a waking-day curriculum of fun-filled activity, at home and in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work as part of a class team, under the direction of the class teacher and trans-disciplinary colleagues, to deliver effective and appropriate teaching, learning and behaviour support in all areas of school life underpinned by an evidence-based behavioural model of practice.
* Create a positive learning environment, reflective of the school's culture and ethos as set out in its curriculum purpose statement.
* Work with pupils both individually and in small groups supporting them to overcome barriers to learning, delivering teaching, providing positive behaviour support and delivering other focused interventions.
* Act as the key worker for one pupil, taking responsibility for coordinating their resources, monitoring their daily data, and advocating for them within team meetings.
* Uphold the School policies to protect and safeguard pupils and vulnerable adults in order to secure their health, safety and wellbeing.
Applicant Requirements:
* Qualifications: Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Teaching Assistant.
* Experience: Up to date subject knowledge SEN and school experience.
* Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK and DBS checked and on the update service or be willing to undertake one.
* Travel: The ability to commute to and from work independently.
* Hours: Full time hours 08:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday.
* Pay: £18,426 - £22,760 (not pro-rata) depending on experience.
