World class PQS consultancy seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor focused on a major public sector contract

Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Remuneration: \u00A355,00-\u00A360,000 basic salary + car allowance + flexi-time + excellent benefits

Your new company
A world call consultancy supplying engineering and surveying services into the energy, infrastructure and Governmental sectors. Able to support major complex projects in commercial contracts and project delivery. They are looking to expand their team with the hire of a new PQS team due to securing a large long term, national, major public sector contract undertaking commercial office fit out works.

Your new role
The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will have responsibility of managing a team dedicated to working with a key client and will managing projects and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors. Duties will include:

* New sites, refurbishment of sites and divestment of vacated sites.
* Working with the business development team on the NEC\/JCT\/bespoke or similar forms of contract for building projects.
* Providing advice and recommendations, acting clientside PQS protecting their business interests.
* Working across the full project life cycle from cost plans for feasibility studies, preparing invitation to tender documents and reviewing the returned tenders, putting the contract in place, administering the contracts including contractual correspondence and responding to CE notifications etc. through to claims management, final accounts and when necessary disputes.
* Hiring and development of a quantity surveying team including; induction and training and line management of staff.
* Undertake employee\/vendor appraisals for staff you are directly managing and\/or working on for allocated frameworks
* Completing monthly reports for all allocated frameworks
* Be the first point of contact for all framework issues and escalated problems
* Attend management meetings to coordinate and liaise on framework matters as required.
* Help to provide technical answers for bids & tenders.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will have a proven background in managing frameworks and be able to demonstrate their ability to manage fit out projects. You must be a strong communicator with this role having an emphasis on client management and be willing to coach and mentor others.

A competitive basic salary, car allowance, private healthcare, flexible working; 1-2 days a week working from home and flexi-time working hours. Flexible start time from 9-11:30am. 42.5 hour week which must be worked over 5 days but flexible hours.
