Job description

We are currently working with a leading provider of fire alarm and security systems based across Liverpool, Manchester and Preston who are looking for a Fire & Security Estimator to join them on a permanent basis. You will be quoting for new system fit outs and modifications following tender enquires, making sure that this is in line with customer specifications and in a timely manner.
Duties:
- Covering commercial sites, schools and universities
- Reviewing tender enquires
- Producing multi-disciplined accurate quotations and design fire systems in line with British Standards Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings, using AutoCAD
- Complete and submit quotations, bill of quantities, and tender documents to customers in a timely manner
- Advising of alternative systems where needed
- Keeping up to date with knowledge of Fire, CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder systems
- Capability to work independently or within a team when required.
- Providing a high class and professional service.
- Ensure that communication is maintained throughout the business to assist with maximising cost saving use of labour and making efficiencies to ensure revenues and margins are maximised.
- Updating tender software systems databases
Skills and Experience Required:
- FIA ( Preferred but not essential )
- Previous estimating experience and technical knowledge of a variety of fire alarm systems is essential
- In depth knowledge of current and appropriate fire and life safety regulations is essential
- Demonstrate an ability to understand matters of a financial nature and conform to budgetary constraints.
- High level of can do attitude, organisational ability and drive to meet deadlines
- Computer skills are essential
- Willing to go the extra mile to satisfy customers' differing needs and commitments
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Strong written, verbal, and numerical skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- Positive can-do attitude towards career development.
- Ability to work successfully as a team member and on own
