Job description

We have a surgery looking to recruit a new permanent ANP on a salaried basis for between 3-5 days a week, around 24-35 hours available.

The working pattern is flexible, as are start/finish times, they are happy to work around the candidate and negotiate on a case by case basis. The surgery are open 8:30am-6:30pm each day so a mix of early starts and later finishes would be preferred (or you can do the full 10 hour day to consolidate hours).

They are needing someone who is experienced with running their own Minor Illness clinics, who can assess, diagnose and treat autonomously, so prescribing will be essential for the role. Ideally you'll have, or be close to finishing, your MSc in Advanced Practice although this is not a deal breaker if you don't have it! You'll not be involved with QOF or chronic disease management within this position, as this is done by the Practice Nursing team. There will be some home visits and you will need to be comfortable with telephone triage and with handling more acute concerns as it will be a role that'll involve signposting and referring on.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of around £54,000-£56,000 (FTE) and employment package, including 6 weeks of annual leave + bank holidays off, NHS pension and indemnity cover included. There is also free parking on site for staff at no additional charge.

The team you'll be joining is comprised of 2GPs, 2PNs and a HCA, who care for a patient list of 10,500. The demographic is mixed, with a slightly higher proportion of younger patients. The surgery use EMIS web, but are happy to train someone up on the IT system if required. The ethos at the Practice is really supportive, they've got a great network within the practice and across the community. The team help each other on the daily, both professional and personally - they're really close-knit team who are well established at the Practice, with most the team being there for 10+ years. The low staff turnover demonstrates the practices success as does their Good CQC report.
