In your role as Assistant Team Leader, you will support the Home Manager, Deputy Manager and Team Leaders in ensuring that person centred plans are tailored to the people we support, alongside bringing out the best in the support team by providing supervisions, mentoring and coaching and being a professional role model of best practice. Other responsibilities include:
• To manage shifts in the absence of the Home Manager/Team Leader, supervising staff and ensuring they carry out their roles efficiently, and to assist and support the process of inducting new team members.
• Overseeing the accurate and person-centred administration of medication by your team.
• To maintain professional relationships with families and others connected with the people we support.
• To stimulate interaction between the people we support by motivating them to take part in their own development by participating in group, occupational and recreational activities, including community activities, where appropriate.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate their experience in the health care sector and will be able to help the day to day smooth operation of the home. Alongside this you will:
• Be caring and empathetic
• Have excellent diplomacy and communication skills
• Be imaginative and full of initiative
• Ideally, have previous experience of managing/leading people and teams.
• Have previous experience in a residential/nursing home or knowledge of the social care sector.
• Hold an NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or ideally NVQ 3
• Possess good IT skills and be familiar with packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
