A Manufacturing Engineer is required to join a high-tech electro-mechanical manufacturing company at their state-of-the-art machine shop facility. Due to their continued success they are looking to add to the team with the goal of streamlining and improving the production process.

As the Manufacturing Engineer the projects that you will be working on will be improving the productivity of the machines and processes. Both the machines and the parts being manufactured are highly complex, and therefore require someone with a methodical and practical approach to problem solving.

Ideally you will have previous experience in a machine shop, that could be operating and programming machines and then you would have stepped up into more or a manufacturing position. This role is crucial, and you will be working on improving efficiency and productivity in the machine shop. The role will also involve mentoring of operators and working closely with deign teams. Other responsibilities may include.

Work on improving the efficiency of processes by; reducing waste, reducing cycle times, and reducing downtime on machines.
Liaise with mechanical engineers within the group, to ensure a smooth transition from design concept to prototype part production, through to production.
Work with the design department to improve the manufacturability of current products.
Liaise with the design department during the product development phase ensuring design for manufacture principals are followed.
Training and monitoring of machine shop operators
Develop, monitor and improve the production process for new and existing products.
Monitor & review machine output, quality, efficiency and SPC data.
Experience & Skills:

Have experience of undertaking projects which improve the efficiency of a process.
Have experience of setting and programming a variety of CNC machines.
Experience of lean manufacturing, Kaizen continuous improvement, design for manufacture or similar production tools within a medium volume, high quality manufacturing facility essential.
Ability to read and interpret complex electro/mechanical technical drawings essential.
Ideally experience in using Solidworks CAD software
