Associate Director (Mechanical)

Multi-Award-Winning Built Environment Design Consultancy

Up to £85,000 plus annual bonus and generous benefits package

re:Work are proud to have partnered with a multi-award-winning built environment design consultancy to support in their search for an Associate Director (Mechanical) for the London office.

The business is regarded as an industry leader in multi-disciplinary built environment design consultancy, widely recognised for their innovation, technical excellence, and high standards and ability to deliver environmentally conscious, sustainable designs for challenging projects across a diverse array of sectors and project types.

As Associate Director (Mechanical) you will have a Team Management and Project Leadership role in the design, development and coordination of building services engineering project services, while assisting other Directors with business strategy and management.

Responsibilities

* Act as Associate Director (Mechanical) and Team Manager, providing leadership and guidance to the mechanical and multi-disciplinary engineering team.

* Conduct cost and profit analysis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of fee proposals

* Work closely with clients and project team to establish project requirements and prepare schedules, plans and reports as required.

* Financial and commercial management of projects to ensure they return the target margin

* Leadership and hands-on monitoring of construction and installation on projects

* Represent the Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors

* Carry out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards

* Hands-on involvement in local office management in conjunction with other members of the senior management team

* Support clients in tender and procurement of MEP contractors and equipment.

* Lead on the coordination of engineering services, together with hands on delivery of concept and detailed designs

* Mentoring and development of younger members of the engineering team

* Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.

Requirements

* BSc/BEng in appropriate Mechanical or Building Services Engineering discipline

* Significant experience of specification design for a range of building types

* At least 10+ years' experience as a consulting engineer

* Have a sound technical knowledge in chosen engineering discipline

* Experience in one or multiple of the following sectors: Commercial Office, High-End Residential, Mixed-Use Developments, Retail or Hotels.

* Have a commitment to delivering excellent quality service and product

* Sound knowledge and working application of key health and safety issues and legislation

* Appreciation and working knowledge of contract and business law
