Associate Product Manager

Where in Wellcome will I be working?
Wellcome's Corporate Affairs team works to build and sustain the trust, influence, reputation, and brand that will help us ensure science works for and with the people we seek to benefit.
We are looking for an Associate Product Manager who will be responsible for the continuous improvement and maintenance of Wellcome's intranet, Trustnet. In this role, you will work closely with the Internal Communications team and People team to ensure the product meets the needs of the business. When needed, you will work within an agile framework with a small, multi-disciplinary team including Software Engineers and Product Designers to make technical changes.
The role will also lead the day-to-day community management of the platform. This will be vital part of the success of the product and could include writing news stories, influencing and supporting colleagues to write articles, responding to comments, platform administration and sharing digital content best practice.
What will I be doing?
In this role you will
- Take responsibility for appropriate product work whether that's simple complete products or subsets or features of existing products.
- Maintain a product roadmap based on research, data analysis and key goals for the product.
- Undertake delivery tasks on products such as content creation, community management or dashboard creation when required.
- Ensure stakeholders understand the rationale for work being undertaken and are kept appropriately informed throughout delivery.
- Ensure there are clear goals for work and appropriate monitoring of those goals.
- Participate in, or lead as necessary: user research, workshops, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, product demos and sprint retrospectives.
- Together with the delivery manager, lead/coordinate/motivate a small product team of staff and contractors.
- Use Scrum, Kanban or other Agile or lean product management techniques as appropriate to manage work.
- Be a proactive member of the wider digital team looking for opportunities to continuously improve working practices.
- Consider the ethical impact and legalities of work, making sure that there is awareness from senior digital managers of risks.
We are looking for someone with experience of:
- Experience of maintaining product roadmaps, planning and prioritising product improvements or fixes
- Experience of writing and editing content
- Experience of using data analytics and user research to shape product roadmap and development
- Understands a user-centered design approach
- Understands a data analytics (particularly Google Analytics)
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team
Salary - £54,158.00
