AWS Dev Ops Engineer - Terraform, web, EC2, S3, Ansible, linux, Jenkins - London - up to 75k

Exciting opportunity working for an expanding Global media company where you will be working with the latest technology, my client is going through a large transformation/integration programme and are seeking an AWS Dev ops Engineer to join their team. This is a new role due to expansion.

Duties include:

  • Design, delivery, operation, maintenance and life cycle management of code repositories, pipeline and continuous deployment release chains.
  • Creation of, and maintenance of, Amazon AWS Accounts and VPC's using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Monitoring & maintenance of website availability, provision of production service support, and investigation into production incidents
  • Production support for websites and databases, and operations assistance.
  • Ensure that websites and platforms adhere to the corporate standard relating to security and governance
  • Ensure that all relevant systems have backup and recovery plans which are fully implemented and regularly tested

Looking for candidates with similar experience with the following:

  • Hands-on AWS experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of AWS CloudFormation, EC2, S3, and similar technologies
  • Demonstrable knowledge of AWS security layers like VPCs/NACLs, Security Groups, IAM roles, etc
  • Solid understanding of code pipelines & release chains
  • Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Server and application configuration experience using Ansible
  • AWS hosting
  • Linux server administration
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels including a wide range of stakeholders within the business
  • Highly skilled in the improvement of processes & systems
  • Problem solves within tight deadlines
  • Be pro-active and take initiative and encourage teams to do the same
  • Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems
  • AWS Associate Certification - ideally
  • Good working knowledge and experience of any of .net, PHP, Java, IIS
  • Cloud infrastructure and platforms
  • Understanding of Agile Scrum - ideally
  • Microservice architecture - desirable
  • Understanding of DNS architectures and systems - desirable
  • Any experience in Jenkins, Python, Lambda - ideally
