Job description
How you expect the candidate to spend their day:We are looking for an intern for a 36-month placement within a busy communications team. If you have excellent organisation skills and are eager to learn more about communications and engagement within a social enterprise, then this could be the role for you.
This is an exciting time to join us, as we roll out our new brand and expand our work to create greater impact. There will be lots of variety in this role, and you will work closely with the communications team to support with the development of key communications assets.
You will also play a key role in supporting the understanding and evaluation of our communications work, through social and web analytics, to ensure that we are learning and improving.
Our reach and audience engagement will increase the opportunities that we have to reimagine supply chains and ultimately drive better livelihoods for cotton farming communities.
You will also assist colleagues in writing copy, supporting event logistics, developing engaging presentations and ad hoc administration needs.
You will need to be social media proficient, a confident writer, and happy to use your initiative to complete a wide variety of tasks.
Ongoing tasks:
Monitor website dashboard, providing weekly status reports
Monitor social media dashboard, providing weekly updates on post-performance and key engagement
Posting blogs, website updates and social media posts
Review media monitoring, circulating relevant articles
Logistics support for speaker events
Ad hoc support with tasks as required
Specific projects
Development of refreshed photo library, coordinating with teams and suppliers for requirements and coordinating gathering of material
Support for development of forward planning communications calendar, e.
g.
identifying key hooks, platforms and events
Communications support for the Linen marketing team developing story ideas for blogs and social posts
Additional tasks (Need basis):
Social media: draft posts and responses for review
Supporting strategy development, e.g., research into key customer comms and marketing channels
Admin support to CEO EA:
Assist in preparing information and research materials
Collating slides, documents
Event logistics
Clerical duties (preparation of routine correspondence, assistance with scheduling the meetings)
The ideal candidates personality and qualifications:Desired Qualifications \/ Experience
Candidate having a Communications, Marketing or English degree will be an added advantage
Experience of writing social posts, blogs and articles
Essential Skills:
Basic knowledge and understanding of social media and website analytics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write engaging copy for a range of stakeholder audiences
Superb research skills
Strong organizational and project management skills with good attention to detail
Proactive self-starter, natural problem solver and eager to learn
Passion for creating social and environmental change and the role business can play
