£350 - £400/Day Inside IR35

Leeds/ Remote

92 Days Initially

We are seeking a Developer for our Public Sector client based in Leeds. This role will mainly be remote, but you may need to commute to office if policy changes. This is an initial 92 day contract paying between £350 - £400/Day Inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:

Experience with Java, or similar
Experience with AWS
One of first tasks will be to join a system, that does not currently exist, to another that just exists
Working as part of one of our development squads the candidate will be providing backfill support for the developers in Data Products
Tasks may include API development, data transformation and bespoke application development in a Java and AWS context
Significant knowledge in software development, architecture and design with experience of appropriate and representative languages, frameworks, platforms and tools; including knowledge of software delivery methodologies, information processing & standards, security, infrastructure and information governance
Knowledge of delivering and operating end-to-end from writing code to operating / maintaining, and continuous improvement
Ability to experiment with new technologies to assess their fit to specific business problems and implements their adoption within a specific solution
Experience in identifying opportunities to leverage or adapt existing technologies to provide the best customer outcomes
Communicating best practice within own and neighbouring teams
Demonstrable understanding of specific application components of software development and proven ability to proactively spot potential issues and take actions to resolve
Experience and ability to adopt and adapt appropriate system design methods, tools and techniques to ensure they are applied effectively for successful deliveries
Experience in providing alternative solution approaches to deliver comparable capabilities with associated expressions of cost, risk, timescales to support evidence-based decisions
Proven experience in facilitating a learning culture in a collaborative team setting which values patterns and practices over specific technology implementations
Experience in driving adoption and acquisition of new skills in teams when working with new technologies
Technical Experience of engineering a large or complex system requiring the introduction of new or optimised exploitation of existing technologies
Experience in software architecture, design and development with an understanding of a range of platforms, languages, methodologies, patterns and implementations
Experience in the "devops" ownership of a system in its totality; designing the application architecture and its supporting infrastructure, taking operational responsibility for its entire lifetime, able to take a new product from inception to deprecation
Knowledge of working in a Service Management environment
Knowledge of the ITIL framework and how this is applied
Specialist knowledge and expertise in toolset development and maintenance
Good knowledge and experience of toolset development, support, and infrastructure concepts (e.g. primary, disaster recovery, load balancing).

Desirable experience:
Knowledge and experience of working in an agile / lean development environment and good understanding of other development methodologies.
Knowledge and experience of configuring and managing a Cherwell system.
