Job DescriptionEmployment & Global Mobility Tax ManagerGeneral Summary:The International Finance Shared Services Centre is responsible for all the finance operations, accounting, and compliance for all of Vertex's operations outside North America.Reporting directly to the International Employment Tax Senior Manager, core to this role is the day-to-day management of the Employment & Global Mobility tax filings and compliance across the Global business, by partnering with external tax advisors as well as with the Payroll, HR, Tax and Finance teams.Key Duties and Responsibilities:As the in-house Employment & Global Mobility Tax Manager, the post holder will work closely with the International Payroll team and the International HR teams to:Liaise with professional advisers to obtain advice on global expat and employment tax matters and effectively communicating the outcomes and resulting obligations.Manage external Employment & Global Mobility Tax providers to ensure that these are working effectively within agreed SLAs and contractual arrangements, making recommendations for change where appropriate.Ensure monthly and annual Employment and Global Mobility Tax tasks are completed within deadlines.Be the primary point of contact for internationally mobile staff with lower tax risk scenarios to advise on overseas employment taxes.Manage necessary actions on international mobile cases and employment tax filings through to completion, documenting decisions made and identifying responsibilities for actions needed.Day-to-day management of social security compliance, liaising with external providers and Payroll team to ensure correct documentation obtained, hold central database (e.g. Certificate of Coverages, A1s in Europe)Maintain a central record of the international mobile workforce.Utilise the tax data to provide clear information to Accounting & Finance for corresponding tax accruals and forecasting. This includes support with effective tax accruals of modified/ expat payrolls.Support the Employment Tax Senior Manager with delivery of day-to-day employment tax and global mobility tax matters by partnering with Payroll and HR teams and guide on operationalising tax matters as applicable.Support the Employment Tax Senior Manager to ensure t ax compliance/ tax risk issues are identified and suitable solutions are put in place to address these/ mitigate tax risks. Support and safeguard company's controls, in line with company policies and SOX controls.Knowledge and Skills:Strong experience on expat and/or employment tax advisory role, including c urrent knowledge of overseas tax and social security requirements.
