Job description

Are you highly organised, proactive and adept at developing and maintaining relationships with clients and external stakeholders? If the answer is yes, then this could be the role for you.

Single Homeless Project is a London-wide charity. Our vision is of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life. We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. From supporting people in crisis to helping people take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 10,000 lives every year across all 32 boroughs.

Our Employment, Training and Education (ETE) programme in our Camden accommodation services provides a needed service, particularly for clients committed to moving away from homelessness and social exclusion and into a meaningful future including increased independence and self-confidence.

As the Employment, Training and Education (ETE) worker, you will hold a caseload of clients who have experienced multiple disadvantages, and who may be facing barriers when working towards social inclusion; which with the appropriate support and guidance can be overcome.

You will support clients, through one-to-one and group sessions, leading towards education and training activities that will help maximise their access to opportunities. You will also work in building and maintaining effective working relationships with external stakeholders including the DWP, training providers and employers.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable adults who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantages and the trauma that could be associated with these experiences. You will also be able to demonstrate experience of providing ETE support, guidance and advice to socially excluded groups and an ability to assess an individual's needs in order to develop personalised action plans.

Closing date: 5th December 2021 (at Midnight)

Interviews to be held: W/C 13th December 2021

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant.

Our attractive benefits package includes:

A salary increase after successfully completing six months.
A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am - 4pm) in non-accommodation services
25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),
A contributory pension scheme: Single Homeless Project will contribute the equivalent of 5% of your annual salary
Staff Health Cash Plan and discounts scheme
Comprehensive and integrated training programme designed specifically to develop the skills and knowledge involved in our work

Single Homeless Project is actively committed to equal opportunities and the promotion of diversity and inclusion, in all of our services and workplaces. We are also Disability Confident Committed and are IIP Silver accredited.
