Environment and Sustainability Advisor - London - £45 - £55k + Travel + 10% Bonus
We are currently recruiting an Environment and Sustainability Advisor for a specialist contractor working on multi-million-pound external work and hard landscaping projects based in London. Working closely with the project teams you will provide support and advice on all aspects of environmental management, planning condition compliance, developing environmental documentation, meeting legal and company standards, and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement. Understand and work with Clients and Regulators to ensure their environmental requirements are complied with. Support on site mitigation, sustainability of works and engagement with local stakeholders and members of the public. Your responsibilities will include:
* Provide environmental guidance and support to project teams
* Carry out monthly environmental inspections via iAuditor
* To attend client sustainability meetings
* To develop and maintain the company's sustainability and environment strategy
* To report on monthly sustainability stats
* To develop an understanding of HSEQ systems
* To support the HSE Manager with the development and implementation of the environmental management system
* Evaluate the environmental impact on the business by determining carbon footprint, energy use, water use, waste production and air quality
* To monitor and manage SMARTWaste and to train staff to use the system
* Review and update site waste management plants
* Carry out environmental training
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Strong knowledge of environment management and sustainable development
* Educated to degree level in Environmental Science or Environmental Management
* Practical experience and knowledge of environmental legislation, ecology and archaeology mitigation, environmental licences, consent applications and regulators
* Understanding of ecological and archaeological matters and environmental law
* IEMA Membership
* Commercial awareness
* Full UK driver's licence and flexibility to travel
* Understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment
* Good interpersonal skills
