Head of Business Management

The Role

To shape and lead the transformation of the Bank's fintech division; delivering the business case for investment, a customer driven transformation roadmap, a proposition aligned to stakeholder requirements, and effective management & oversight of the business plan.
Responsible for the ongoing validation, maintenance and tracking of a strategic plan. The role holder will be required to build strong relationships with Bank wide and Partner functions ensuring operational and transformation activity drives commercial and customer performance.
Key to this role will be the ability to disseminate a wide array of information, challenge and prioritise recommendations into an achievable annual business plan aligned to the strategy.

  • Manage the overall process for plan / project execution, adapting plans based on evolving needs, conditions or issues that may arise and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with the stated goals and objectives
  • Ensure the business adheres to Governance processes and support production of Governance materials
  • Undertake market and industry analysis / benchmarking, requirements gathering, and benefits analysis to support proposed initiatives
  • To ensure the material operational and conduct risks have been identified and are managed within the Bank's risk appetite.
  • To embed the risk management framework ensuring all colleagues understand and deliver their risk management responsibilities, risk within the area.
  • Maintain the strategic vision, plan and 5 year roadmap to achieve the transformation, future growth and performance ensuring alignment with the overall Bank / Group strategy
  • Maintain significant awareness of emerging digital trends - innovations, new technologies and potential vendors to identify opportunities
  • Responsible for assessing and sharing competitor benchmarking, advancements and other wider cross sector digital developments
  • Provision of expert advice to support strategic decision-making, enable the development and implementation of business plans, and to exploit opportunities


Experience and personal attributes required and problem solving

  • Good understanding of digital technology and how this is shaping the future of financial services
  • Experienced in opportunity and investment analysis
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good experience in the production and implementation of plans
  • Experienced executive report writer and confident presenter across multiple mediums
  • Excellent communication, engagement and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent technical/analytical ability (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Access etc)
