Job description
Job Introduction
This is a newly created role which gives you the opportunity to bring together the energy, metering and billing, compliance and maintenance teams together under a single Head of Service to provide a holistic heat, energy and water service to our residents.
The team operates across all tenures and you will need to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior staff across the business to succeed. You'll provide inspirational leadership and guidance to your team, supporting them to deliver strong and effective management of contractors.
You will lead on the strategic review of our domestic and commercial heating specification in advance of our upcoming procurement activity. We want our services to be responsive, efficient and cost effective and positively contribute to resident satisfaction.
Main Responsibility
You will be responsible for heating and hot water across our portfolio including traditional domestic gas boilers (and the associated gas safety checks), electric heating and our heat networks. We'll want you to build upon our already high levels of gas safety compliance and find ways of consistently maintaining 100% compliance.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who knows what good looks like in terms of the delivery of these services but wants to achieve more than this. This is absolutely a leadership role, but we believe it's important that our leaders understand enough about the detail to help them quickly understand the challenges and then plan to address them.
Did you once work on the tools yourself? A working knowledge of at least some of the services you'll be overseeing would be a distinct advantage.
If this sounds like the challenge you are looking for, we would love to hear from you.
About the Company
Notting Hill Genesis is now one of the largest housing associations in London and the south east. We own and manage more than 66,000 homes and employ around 2,000 staff. We provide homes across a range of tenures and are committed to continuing to deliver housing that is affordable to all. Our roots reach back to the 1960s when our legacy organisations were established by local people who shared a similar vision - to house west London's working poor, providing them a home from which to build themselves and their families a secure future.
Our people
We value our people and both respect and celebrate their differences. We're proud to say that our colleagues come from different backgrounds, with varied outlooks and are from all over the world. We encourage and are committed to diversity. We know that when people with varied experiences and unique points of view come together, it makes us a stronger organisation and more able to help the wide range of residents that we serve. We want all our colleagues to bring their full selves to work in a culture and environment based on respect and fairness, regardless of role, background or ability.
