JOB TITLE: HR Assistant
SALARY: Sc3 Sp15 £23,086 pro-rata per annum
HOURS: Part-time, 4 days (30 hours) per week possibly rising to 37.5 hours per week
CONTRACT: Permanent
LOCATION: Initially remote, 8-10 Tudor Road, but may attend other offices when required
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of HR and Operations
About Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest: we are a multi-disciplinary provider of specialist mental health services and a part of the Mind Federation. We promote both recovery from ill health for people with recurrent and enduring mental health difficulties and early intervention and mental, physical wellbeing for those at risk of developing mental health issues or who struggle with common mental health conditions. We currently support around 5000 people a year through a variety of services focusing on psychological and social supports, economic and workplace wellbeing, and support for minoritised communities.
Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest are seeking a resilient, highly efficient HR Assistant with a strong admin background to join their busy HR department. If you have an established background in HR administration, thrive in this environment and are willing to learn, there is scope within the role for further development.
The successful candidate will provide day to day support to the Head of HR and Operations on a wide range of HR related activities. The role will suit an individual looking to further develop their HR skills.
This will include managing the administration of new starters and leavers, minute-taking in meetings, leading on the recruitment process, including arranging interviews, advertising roles and collation of applications, liaising with managers in regard to recruitment and internal contract changes, processing payroll documentation, maintaining the upkeep of the HR database, and providing general support to the Head of HR and Operations on ad hoc projects.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. Due to the nature of the business, it is also important to be adaptable and flexible, remaining professional and calm when working under pressure, often under minimal supervision. Previous experience of working in a busy HR department in an administrative function is essential as is absolute discretion and confidentiality.
