Learning Support Assistant

Sugarman Education have an excellent opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to work within an SEN setting at a Primary School based in South West London.

The school requires a caring and approachable individual, who has a passion for working with children with special needs. This is a role that requires patience and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.

This school is rated Good by Ofsted and provides the highest quality of education and care for their students. This role will be a temporary position initially, but has the potential to become a permanent role which offers endless opportunities to grow and expand. The school will also offer additional training and support. This amazing opportunity that will involve supporting a student with Autism on a 1:1 basis, building a trusting relationship with him keeping him engaged in making process with his learning will help him to improve his social skills and overcome certain learning barriers.

Requirements

A patient and understanding approach and manner
A flexible and amenable attitude
Enthusiastic energy within the classroom
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Clear DBS check
Experience of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction are advantageous but not essential
