The successful candidate will use their own initiative to prioritise the day-to-day reactive operational workload and the pre-planned maintenance tasks for the team.You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced complex environment, substantial experience of delivering excellent customer service and can work well under pressure.You will be required to:Develop and maintain a positive team working cultureManage and optimise out of hours maintenance cover arrangementsDeputise for the head of Estates Operational Services as requiredDemonstrate senior leadership and supervisory experience in an engineering and maintenance functionProvide good working knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislationAbility to interrogate computer-based maintenance management systems and digital control systems and use the data to positively influence outcomesThis role also requires the candidate to have at least one technical qualification, plus IOSH or NEBOSH or significant H&S experience.The post holder will be expected to work at Kew and be available to be part of the on-call management team on rotation of 1 week in every 2 months as an average.The salary will be £38,200 - £43,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.Our fantastic benefits package includes opportunities for continuous learning, a generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance, an Employee Assistance Programme and other wellbeing support such as cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership.
