Allstaff Recruitment are currently seeking a Software Engineer based in Letchworth for a well-established engineering company.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Location: Letchworth
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday.

As the Software Engineer your role will involve the following important duties:

Developing and integrating as a class owner or domain expert: rich and intuitive interfaces, software drivers, functional software, robot control, vision systems, artificial intelligence systems, industry 4.0 systems.
Developing engineering specifications from customer requirements.
Design software and systems to specification, cost and time targets.
Software/system problem-solving in both legacy and new special purpose machines.
Carry out unit, regression and integration testing at all phases of development.
Contribute to CE/UK CA risk assessments and other design standards compliance.
Draft operating, instruction and maintenance manuals.
Preparing and presenting software/system designs for review.
Highlight all software/system technical risks to senior engineers, discipline and project managers.
Carrying out design change requests.
Developing prototypes and proofs of concept with our strategic partners.
The experience required...

As a successful Software Engineer you will have the following:

Minimum BTEC level 5, HND/HNC in a relevant field to Automation/Special purpose machines and/or Software/System design.
Demonstratable experience working in the Software or Systems Engineering field.
Experience in writing code in C#, Visual Basic 6 and/or .NET.
Experience with GIT, BitBucket software version control.
Ability to use Microsoft Visual Studio (2017 onwards preferred).
Understanding of Vision, Robot, production line testing, Programmable Logic Controllers and other automation technology is desirable.
Agile Development experience.
Experience using Jira/Trello or an equivalent system.
Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
Ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical people visually and verbally.
Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
