Job DescriptionThe Marketing Scientist is responsible for delivering commercial insights to impact the International Haematology business by planning and executing analytical and market research projects. Work will cover a mix of strategic and executional areas, including supporting brand planning, desk research to develop our knowledge of new therapy areas and building our insights base to support commercialisation.There will be an emphasis on delivering deep insights from a variety of data sources and translating that insight into implications for business decisions and commercial forecasts. The role will work with a variety of stakeholders, internal colleagues in Global, International and Country and also with external vendors. The work is complex and non-routine in nature, requiring independent decision making and interpretation of significant policies, processes and situations.This role is based in Vertex's International headquarters in London.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Regularly interacts across the commercial matrix, including with high level internal and external contacts to plan and coordinate execution of Analytic and market research projectsManages project set-up and approvals to ensure good compliance with Vertex policiesManages vendors to ensure timely delivery of projectsReviews, tracks budgets and manages expenses relating to projects.Helps drive insight generation from our primary market research investments as well as from data analysisPerforms other duties as assignedCOMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:• Proficient at building and delivering presentationsExercise sound independent judgment to regularly handle new and complex situationsAbility to professionally communicate with internal colleagues and external partners, verbal and writtenHas an understanding of the regulatory environment in PharmaceuticalsHigh level of flexibility and a strong team worker with excellent networking skillsExcellent English written and verbal skillsAble to visual and communicate effectively with dataEDUCATION• B.A. (or equivalent degree) and/or relevant work experienceSKILLS & EXPERIENCE• Highly organised with strong planning capabilitiesExperience in working within pharmaceutical/medical industry.
