Media and Research Officer (Part-Time - 3 days a week)

Central London • £26,000 - £29,000 per annum (Full Time Equivalent) + Benefits

About Us

The Microbiology Society is a membership charity for scientists interested in microbes, their effects, and their practical uses. We are one of the largest microbiology societies in Europe with a worldwide membership based in universities, industry, hospitals, research institutes, and schools.

Our principal goal is to develop, expand and strengthen the networks available to our members so that they can generate new knowledge about microbes and ensure that it is shared with other communities. The impacts from this will drive us towards a world in which the science of microbiology provides maximum benefit to society.

About You

We are looking for a Media and Research Officer to join our friendly and welcoming team at the Microbiology Society, based in central London. The postholder will support the Society's strategy by contributing proactively and reactively to media communications to maximise our impact.

The role will develop knowledge of the research activities of members, acting as a conduit between their expertise and the media and other audiences. They will source and write content from exciting research activities within our membership and across our journals content to support our aim to advance understanding of microbiology and champion the contribution made by microbiology, our members, and their work in addressing global challenges.
