The successful candidate will use their own initiative and direction from the Maintenance Manager to prioritise the day-to-day reactive operational workload.The role requires a high degree of internal stakeholder management and an ability to plan and deliver technically challenging projects.You will be required to:Inspect properties & recommend remedial actionManage, coordinate, and control the delivery of projects from inception to completion.Provides appropriate level of on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are being met.Manage quotes, keep track of all costs attributed to each project and seek approvals for any variations to work.Provide good working knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation with previous experience of approving RAMS.Regularly provides update reports to the Maintenance Manager & Head of Estates Operational Services as required.Develops relationships with consultants, contractors, local authorities for planning permission and surveyors.This role also requires the candidate to have at least one building trade qualification or significant time served relevant experience.The post holder will be expected to work at Kew & Wakehurst and be available to be part of the on-call management team on rotation of 1 week in every 2 months as an average.The salary will be £38,200 - £43,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.Our fantastic benefits package includes opportunities for continuous learning, a generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance, an Employee Assistance Programme and other wellbeing support such as cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership.
