This is an opportunity to join Babcock in providing a reliable, efficient and courteous technical service to our customer; the Metropolitan Police Service.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Technician who will play a key role in servicing and repairing motor vehicles at Police Stations / roadside throughout London.
What will you be doing?
As a Mobile Technician it is key to operate in a safe and efficient manner using such skills and knowledge as is required and offering excellent customer service at the same time, building affective relationships.
Your duties will include:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicle components and accessories, in line with company and/or manufacturer's instructions, including removal and refitting in a safe, proper and economical manner using equipment provided
Diagnosing faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Including road testing where deemed necessary
Operating a 'Fix First Time' way of working ensuring quality of work is at the utmost standard and meets/exceeds any inspection carried out against it
Observing, recognising and reporting on defects and/or symptoms of impending failure.
Ordering parts as necessary, ensuring that no parts are fitted to vehicles other than those required to complete the work
Responsibility for correct part/s stocking, stock control of all parts on the MMU van and be responsible for updating stock where necessaryThe experience you'll bring
Motor vehicle repair maintenance experience and City Guilds 1.2.3 or equivalent
Diagnostic equipment and fault diagnostic methods
High levels of efficiency
Understanding and application of health & safety requirements, including lone working
Proactive and flexible outlook
Full UK Driving Licence with no previous disqualifications from driving (DR, CD, DD, IN OR TT99 endorsements will not be accepted)What a role with Babcock offers?
