Our technology:

At the heart of our platform we track performance marketing data and build a number of solutions to turn this data into useful information for our customers. We work with a lot of data, generating over a billion events across our infrastructure daily. We aim to make as much of this data available in real-time as possible, which is no mean feat at this scale! Our platform is powered by our REST APIs and everything is developed with an API-first approach.

The primary technologies we use are PHP, Python, JavaScript (React), and Kafka. Data is stored in MySQL, PostgreSQL, Druid and Redis. We are constantly evolving our platform and tools to take advantage of the ever-changing tech landscape. We deploy to production several times a day.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional, delivery-focused team with engineers, QA and Product managers working together using Agile principles in a highly autonomous and collaborative environment
  • Work closely with Product managers and Scrum Masters to ensure timely delivery of product roadmap items
  • Confidently share knowledge, code and ideas across other teams - we use tribes to facilitate this
  • Lead projects that have impact on tribe-wide goals
  • Actively look to improve engineering practices and processes
  • Establish a shared team technical vision, aligned with the product roadmap
  • Ensure code quality through merge requests
  • Support, coach and mentor other team members
  • Write clean, well-tested and refactored code alongside the other engineers
  • Manage a product technical roadmap to minimise technical debt
  • Champion software quality
  • Champion agile best practices like TDD, Continuous integration and delivery
  • Master a complex business domain
Requirements:

  • Extensive software engineering experience using one or more languages including PHP
  • Experience with architecture design while leading software development team
  • Experience with leading a cross functional team
  • OO skills, strong design and integration patterns knowledge
  • Experience with Agile and Lean delivery approaches and modern engineering practices, such as clean code, TDD, refactoring, Domain driven design, Continuous integration and delivery
  • Experience in designing, developing and consuming REST APIs and APIs as product
  • Experience with communicating technical vision and passion for close collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • The ability to communicate in a concise and focused way, listen to others, and practice patience
Nice to have:

  • Passion for close collaboration with QA engineers and Product managers
  • Ability to break down a complex problem into more manageable chunks
  • "Getting things done" attitude
  • Experience with Symfony
  • Experience with container technologies, such as Docker
  • Experience with distributed data processing, real-time data streaming and messaging systems
  • Demonstrate behaviours that encourage a DevOps culture
