Job description

Local Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager to lead on a new project developing a website that showcases the remarkable work of an innovative, 15 year, community-led change programme. The website will be a dynamic interface to catalogue the journey and achievements of each area from 2012 to 2026.

This new project is called the compendium project and the community-led programme is called Big Local.  Between 2010 and 2012, the National Lottery Community Fund identified 150 areas that had historically missed out on lottery and other funding. Each of those areas was allocated £1m of Big Local funding This could be spent in any way they chose, provided residents organised themselves locally to plan and manage that funding, involving the wider community in the decision-making process. 

The compendium project will show what each area has achieved and spent their funding on between 2012 and 2026, describing their journey and the story of the programme as a whole.

We are looking for an experienced project manager who has developed websites themselves or managed others to build websites has an excellent understanding of quantitative and qualitative data, and the ability to pull together information from a range of sources to tell accurate and meaningful stories of change

The postholder will;

Establish, agree and monitor a comprehensive project plan with timeline, key milestones and deliverables reporting regularly to senior staff on progress
Appoint and work alongside a web development agency to explore the best ways of presenting data
Manage the pilot of a website build with data from a small number of Big Local partnerships, to learn and adapt and inform roll-out
Oversee the website development process, working with an external development agency and working closely with Local Trust’s communications team
Recruit and manage a researcher to support the project and focus on data collection and Big Local area liaison
Work with the researcher to assess the gaps in data available and creatively explore ways of filling these
Work with Big Local partnerships to improve how they think about and articulate their legacy
