Job description

"From my first day in the YoungMinds fundraising team I felt welcomed, supported and part of something. The team all help one another so much." (A current team member)

Do you enjoy research? Are you naturally curious and have an ability to summarise your findings accurately?

YoungMinds are growing! We are adding this role and a few more to our friendly fundraising department of 15 so we will soon be 20. This role will be a part of our seven-person Business Development Team- we seek out and build relationships with potential supporters of YoungMinds such as trusts, companies and individuals.

As a Prospect Research Officer, you will bring your fascination for finding out information by using the internet and other tools to carry out research. You will use these skills to identify, research and maintain a pipeline of potential supporters for YoungMinds. Your focus for this will be on those with the ability to make substantial gifts across Trusts, Foundations, Major Donors, and Corporates.

You

At the moment you might be in a fundraising role, looking for your next step, or maybe working in a different sector entirely, using all the research skills we need.
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of demonstrating the skills below, so if you have:

Experience of developing and implementing a research process to generate new income or relationships
Experience of using databases for effective fundraising or supporter/customer development
Ability to plan and develop supporter/customer journeys with a range of audiences
Ability to conduct desk research to identify a range of funding sources
Knowledge of the UK voluntary sector, funding sources, fundraising laws & methods

Then this could be the role for you

The team

Our fundraising department is about to grow from 15 to 20 people. We've had a very successful fundraising year, due to our supporters knowing that the mental health of young people is so important. We hope you do too and want to be part of that change.

Our team size is perfect for someone who wants to experience a breadth of fundraising - we are large enough to offer support to one another and small enough to mean that we get involved with each other's work, so we all get some experience of different fundraising methods. Also, because of our size, each person knows how much impact they are making.

It's pretty special.

Key info:

Our offices are in London, just 1km from London Bridge and Tower Hill.

Final date for receiving application forms is midday on Monday 6th December

Interviews for this role will be on: Friday 17th December

We are currently trialling the option of hybrid working with two or three days a week in the office. We plan to stay hybrid with the structure developing as time goes on.
