Summary
CB is a 10-year-old girl with autism and complex needs. She is funny, loving, friendly and enjoys music, dancing and barbies. We require a carer/nanny/companion.

We are looking for someone who is reliable and has SEN and Makaton experience/training. CB has ASD and global developmental delays in speech and physicality. Her health is also another concern, so first aid and knowing health concerns is a must.

CB has some difficulties with social interaction with her peers, not so much with adults; this can cause her great frustration because of communication issues, so being able to handle situations like this is very important when in places like the park, where 1-1 care is needed. You will need to be patient, cheerful but also stern, as she can be very stubborn.

First aid is also a must with her complex needs; this also includes health. She has mild hearing loss, which fluctuates and cannot walk far at times due to knee problems. It's important you have a car and a valid license in case of emergencies.

Duties/experience;

SEN experience and some Makaton training or experience

Medication administration

Meal prep (will be required sometimes)

Bathing and dressing (will be required sometimes)

Playing (reading, playing with dolls, dancing)

Going out on outings - will need to hold a valid driving licence so CB can take part in activities in the community, such as playing in the park or going for a buddy ride. If all goes well, attending clubs with CB.

Toileting

We'd prefer someone flexible (hours to be discussed), PAYE, rate of pay £11-£12 per hr (negotiable dependent on role)
