Age UK are currently recruiting for a Senior Analyst - Social Care in their impactful Influencing Team. The post holder will undertake quantitative research to address questions about older people's need for and access to social care, to support Age UK's work influencing the social care policy agenda.

The post holder will generate, synthesise and communicate quantitative social research; and guide and support colleagues within Age UK on the appropriate use of research and statistics.

This is a 2 year fixed term hybrid contract offering flexible working between home and a central London co-working hub.

You will have

* Substantial experience of research project management and assessing the quality of research evidence
* Experience of using quantitative social science research to inform policy
* Excellent quantitative research skills, including the ability to manage and undertake secondary analysis of large datasets using Stata or R
* Knowledge of relevant sources of publicly available data on older people's social care and associated topics, and an understanding of how to appropriately analyse them
* Awareness of recent developments in social care policy and an understanding of the impact these have for older people
* Experience of supporting non-specialists to interpret and communicate research and statistics
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to be concise and precise, and to communicate research findings to various audiences
* The ability to manage a complex workload, set priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Empathy and understanding of equal opportunities and the needs of older people
* Ability to support and challenge internal colleagues, with self-confidence and a commitment to communication and helping others meet shared goals.
