About the RoleThe Global Insurance Services Practice is a team of over 200 experienced insurance professionals supported by a global network of over 5,000 colleagues. We have first-hand insurance industry knowledge, combined with operational, technical and executional capability.Our aim is to grow an insurance focused management consulting and actuarial practice in EMEA by focusing on the current and emerging needs of our clients. These clients turn to us for help with a wide variety of complex problems, including: advice on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital, financial and risk management. We advise household names and specialist insurers in both life and general insurance across the region.What You'll DoAs a leader of the pricing and analytics function you will be responsible for leading complex pricing, underwriting and transformation related projects for a global and diverse client base. The initial focus will be on personal lines (primarily motor insurance) insurance but in time this will be expanded to other lines of business. The role will involve extensive senior level client interaction (often with c-suite). The successful candidate will also be an integral part of the AADD (Advanced Analytics, Data and Digital) initiative which is a key focus area for growth in the coming years.Qualifications & ExperienceTravel required to clients and to FTI office(s).Educated to a degree Level (2:1 minimum) in a numerate/technical discipline like Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science/EngineeringMaster's degree a plus but not essentialAt least 10 years' experience working for personal lines insurers or consulting organizations in pricing/data science roles.Experience in managing a fully functional pricing/analytical function in a Motor/Home insurance contextIn-depth knowledge of the critical aspects of pricing/analytics function in a Motor/Home Insurance environmentIn-depth understanding of and experience with latest predictive-modelling technologies (including behaviour/predictive models) and AI/ML applications in the motor pricing/analytics ecosystemSignificant experience with other aspects of pricing and rating process, including optimisation, grouping and spatial smoothing technologiesGood coding (Python) and modelling skillsUnderstanding of the drivers of commercial success in a personal lines insurance business.Knowledge of the market, competitive environment, latest innovations, and opportunities.Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a set of business goals.Capability to present information and compelling, persuasive arguments to clients, business stakeholders and external business partners.Critical thinking ability to assimilate information from various sources in order to decide on a course of action, use judgement and risk-based assessments to make recommendations for action even in the absence of full information.Confident decision making and leadership skillsExperience leading teams (of direct reports and project teams) and prioritising workloads to meet agreed objectives.Ability to develop and mentor colleagues in both technical skills and other business skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deal with overlapping deadlines.Understanding of the application of a range of insurance administration, pricing and data management systemsClient-focus; demonstrate that you think customer-first when developing and delivering pricing strategies.Our BenefitsApart from the well-structured career path and excellent team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits.We offer a competitive benefits and wellbeing programme including private medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, income protection, flex critical illness cover, 5% employer pension contribution, holiday buy, discounted gym membership, interest free travel loans, paid volunteer hours and corporate matching for charitable donations, and much more.About FTI ConsultingWhat makes us unique?
