Working with a wide range of stakeholders, we create meaningful value for members and our communities through our diverse workforce of highly competent and highly motivated employees.

  • High performing & progressive team based in London and working closely with the wider team in Australia
  • Flexible and inclusive work environment
  • Exciting growth plans, both locally and internationally

Your new team:

As part of AustralianSuper's international growth plans, we are seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to join our Property team in London, based in Pancras Square, which is part of the Kings Cross redevelopment project, one of the core assets of our investment portfolio.

Currently a team of five locally, they manage the property portfolio for the fund, mainly focusing in UK and Europe, but also some aspects of the USA. This Senior Investment Analyst would support the team in all areas, executing new investment opportunities and strategies, financial modelling, working collaboratively on transactions, as well as working on managing current assets.

The team is part of our Mid-Risk Portfolio, and so incorporates unlisted real asset portfolios, including Unlisted Property, Private Credit, Unlisted Infrastructure and Listed Mid Risk. We also have a Direct Private Credit Team, and Infrastructure team in the office, as well as our in-house Legal Investments team, all in London, who work closely together across this investment space.

You would be reporting to Investment Directors and a Senior Investment Director with amazing knowledge and experiences in the industry, working in real estate and property from 12-30+ plus years.

The team thoroughly enjoy their work, collaborate really well together, and want to welcome someone who also has a passion and interest in this space. The role will have a particular focus on the financial modelling side so that exposure is essential.

As the portfolio of the team already has some very large assets, and will double in the coming year, it is a very exciting time to join us as we expand in all areas of our fund!

Your new role:

Your responsibilities will involve assisting across new transaction executions, investment management and portfolio management, including;

  • Leading the financial modelling workstream, being the primary point of contact for all financial modelling
  • Communicating with internal and external parties for property equity transactions.
  • Providing detailed investment valuation analysis, assisting the team in understanding the value and pricing of investment opportunities.
  • Proactively contributing to other important transactional duties, sharing your understanding of key investments issues.
  • Support preparation and presentation of investment papers and recommendations for property transactions.
  • Monitor and assess asset and portfolio performance, producing reports and insights
  • Produce high quality portfolio reporting for the team, Mid Risk, Investment Committee and other internal stakeholders and committees where required

You'll need

  • Absolute minimum of 2/3 years' experience in the property sector, ideally in an investment management, transactions, or valuations type environment
  • Relevant degree/qualifications in the property or finance space.
  • Very strong financial modelling exposure, ideally leading modelling workstreams, with a desire for numerical tasks
  • Good knowledge of valuation principles and commercial property sectors.
  • Strong people and relationship building skills
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. Argus Enterprise or similar valuation software would be a plus.
  • A genuine interest in the UK and/or US markets
  • A desire to learn and develop with the team

What you will get in return

Joining our team in London presents you with a unique opportunity to be a part of establishing the London operations. You will be responsible for helping to identify new opportunities for the Fund, while developing and embedding best practices that will enable continued growth and the success of the Fund outside of Australia. You will be relied upon to share your knowledge and experience that will enable us to continue to successfully grow the Fund and provide the best possible retirement outcomes for our members.

You will also have plenty of interaction with your colleagues in Australia, but this does at times mean you will need to be flexible in your working hours, as they do the same to be able to accommodate schedules and time differences. There may also be opportunities to travel to our international offices for learning and development purposes.

Furthermore, will you have the chance to work for a growing, dynamic, and authentic business that values integrity and puts its members first, but you get a whole host of other benefits. A competitive salary is on offer and your benefits include genuine flexible working arrangements, insurances, and generous leave entitlements to name a few.

We put members first in everything we do and are committed to the recruitment, development and support of a diverse workforce that share our values of Energy, Integrity, Generosity of Spirit and Excellent Outcomes.
