SOCIAL MEDIA AND CONTENT COORDINATOR
Contract: Full Time
Location: 2 days in the central London office per week with flexible hours and home working on other days
Reporting to: Marketing Manager
Line Manager Responsibility: No
Salary: £27,500

At In Kind Direct we exist to enable more communities to thrive. We receive donated consumer products, which we then sort, store and distribute directly to charitable organisations in our network across the UK, helping their services go further. We work closely with organisations like P&G, ASDA, Kimberly-Clark, PZ Cussons, Unilever, and Amazon, finding a home for all donated goods, stopping them going to landfill, extending their life, and ensuring they end up where they are needed.

Job Purpose:
The Coronavirus pandemic has driven a huge increase in need, both in the number of charitable organisations seeking support, and the volume of products required to keep people clean, safe and well. The reliance on local charitable support has never been greater at a time when our sector is struggling. As our initial increased crisis response is evolving to meet a sustained period of change; we will be delivering a new strategy to achieve 3x growth in impact by 2025.
We're looking for a proactive and creative Social Media and Content Coordinator, who will lead the social media strategy and implementation to help us grow and expand our social following. The Social Media and Content Coordinator will be creative, with a passion for designing engaging, shareable content to generate engagement with different audiences across our channels. They will have experience writing targeted copy and designing content to specific audiences, whilst also supporting other areas of the marketing team with building/ updating webpages, designing email banners and supporting the Marketing Manager with the delivery of key marketing and brand campaigns in line with annual comms calendar.
We are looking to recruit someone with proven experience of growing social media platforms, creative design and copy writing skills, excellent prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at one time. This role will help to build our brand awareness, support PR activity, source case studies and ensure our brand guidelines and tone of voice is maintained throughout. The Social Media and Content Coordinator will be a self-starter, operate with initiative and agility, have an analytical mindset and work closely with the Marketing Manager to deliver against KPIs and ensuring insight is at the heart of decision making.
2022 Key Projects
We have some exciting projects in the pipeline starting in the new year including a new website and online shop redesign and we'll also be celebrating our 25th Anniversary which will drive a full calendar of campaigns and activity next year!
Key Responsibilities:
Social media
Lead on the development of the social media plan, identifying different audiences for each channel and plan how to increase engagement on each. Take ownership of the social media schedule, ensuring activity is planned well in advance for key campaigns, ad hoc brand collabs and business as usual content.
Utilise strong copywriting skills and storytelling to deliver our brand tone of voice across all channels. Apply to a range of media including PR, campaign creative, CRM, website, case studies and external partner comms and reports.
Work with Charity Network Manager to source and deliver compelling case studies to bring our end user stories to life.
Regular monitoring, reporting & analysis across social channels to ensure we are meeting growth KPIs and increasing engagement, adopting a test, learn and reiterate approach.
Day to day responsibility for data protection functions across the Marketing team.
Marketing campaigns
Support marketing manager and collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute campaigns during key times of the year.
Support Marketing Manager in creating new campaign concepts/ designs, copy writing and end of campaign reports to highlight the impact to be shared externally.
Work with our PR agency, supporting with press release creation, image and case study sourcing to bring our stories to life.
Work with creative agency to ensure our Brand guidelines and TOV are maintained, and our key audiences are being considered in the campaign planning and execution phases.
Graphic design
Design and deliver engaging social content across our key social media channels, using resources to create impactful stories, case studies, competitions and other content to engage with our audiences.
Work closely with the Ecommerce Manager to design the product email banners and monthly newsletters using DotDigital and MS Dynamics.
Create and maintain a library of optimised webpages and templates.
Champion the internal and external use of branding guidelines.
Use video editing skills to create impactful, end of campaign reports in video form, shareable via social media, email and internally.
Edit and repurpose existing footage in usable formats.
What you will bring:
Relevant Experience
2-3 years' experience in a similar role
Demonstrable experience of growing followers and increasing engagement on one or more social media platforms
Proven experience in identifying target audiences and tailoring content
Experience using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Knowledge of website and content management such as WordPress, SharePoint
Strong examples of using impact measurement tools for reporting and analysis to demonstrate success
Skills and knowledge
Strong copywriting and written communication skills
Knowledge and experience of Google Analytics or similar analytics tools
Commitment to and understanding of good data protection and practices
Sensitive to the needs of our charity partners and their beneficiaries
Action focused and able to get things done at pace to a high quality
Confident team player with the ability to persuade / enthuse / negotiate with others and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
Photography skills and video editing skills are desirable
