The Logging (Splunk) platform team within Group CIO, Lloyds Banking Group requires a proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our expanding team.

The platform team is accountable for the Infrastructure, operating system (Linux) and the Splunk layers.

The role includes:

  • Technical project delivery - Prepare technical implementation plans and support the team to ensure the required changes meet quality criteria and are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets. Onboard new data different sources into a multi-tiered Splunk environments.
  • Get involved with currency upgrades across all production, pre-production and development/test environments.
  • Splunk Server builds/deployments, configurations and administration, with an understanding of splunk optimisation techniques.
  • Patching and Security Vulnerability Management.
  • 24 * 7 Service Support (on a rota) and ensure that Splunk is consistently stable and available for the business.
  • ITIL principles including Incident Management, Problem Management and Root Cause analysis.
  • Support with Service Improvement Plan (CSIP).
  • Disaster Recovery.
  • Working with colleagues and users in various areas of the project lifecycle, producing documentation to required standards.

What we need from you:

  • A proven technical background with strong planning capabilities, experience of identifying and handling technical challenges for both delivery and operational. The ability to plan and work on multiple tasks.
  • Must have a Splunk Administration/Architect certification.
  • Proven hands-on experience with distributed Splunk environments as an admin. This must include Splunk Search Processing language; Splunk Reporting and Dashboard Creation.
  • A Strong Splunk troubleshooting skills, problem solving and with sound analytical skills.
  • Experience must include using regex (regular expressions) with a scripting language(e.g., Python, Perl, shell scripts etc.,).
  • Experience in application load balancing in Splunk and/or using DNS and Load Balancing Services (such as F5).
  • Experience on integrating/configure splunk DBConnect app
  • Hands on experience of Linux/Unix shell/commands.
  • A willingness to learn various technical disciplines quickly.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Great team work and collaboration.
  • Understanding of Cloud methodologies and experience of delivering or migrating applications to run on public or private cloud would be desirable.
  • Awareness of agile Development practices, continuous integration/deployment, Test and the E2E development lifecycle would be desirable.

Nice to have skills:

  • Knowledge of Splunk ITSI Implementations and deployments.
  • Experience/Knowledge on integrating/configure splunk apps likes AWS, SNOW, Kafka apps etc., with Splunk Platforms.
  • Experience in hardening Splunk.
  • Experience/knowledge with Web eservices(REST API) for Splunk.
  • Understanding of firewalls, load balancers, networking, enterprise application/network security technology and appliances/tools.
