In partnership with Luton local authority and CCG we will be delivering a Specialist Positive Behaviour Support and direct support service to an individual young woman in the family home. The young woman has a learning disability, autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Currently due to her complex needs the young woman is not in education, struggles to leave her house or engage in any social activities. The aim of the service is to implement PBS strategies to meet the young woman's needs, reduce the incidents of behaviours that challenge, increase her quality of life significantly and enable her to engage in social and community activities.
You , the other Support Workers and the Team Leader will also be implementing the PBS strategies under the guidance and direction of the Senior Specialist Key Worker You will be a positive role model and you will bring our values to life and share our passion and commitment to always strive to find creative ways to enrich the lives of those we support.
You will have a willingness to undertake PBS training and have a knowledge of child protection and safeguarding. Training on Positive Behaviour Support, child protection, autism, learning disabilities, and person centered support, Team Teach and other child specific training will be provided. You will be line managed by the Senior Specialist Key Worker/Team Leader
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Senior Specialist Keyworker implement intensive PBS support to the young woman to support a reduction in challenging behaviours, increase life skills and independence, increase community engagement and improve her quality of life
Deliver the highest quality and standards of support to the young woman.
Develop meaningful relationships with the young woman and the family that is based on trust, reliability and professionalism thus enabling effective support and interventions.
To provide direct care, including personal care and support to the young woman, taking into account the individual's right to privacy and personal choice, and respecting their dignity at all times.
