This has never been more needed than now - our small but rapidly evolving social enterprise transformed during the early months of the pandemic, reimagining service delivery to respond to emergency need and finding new ways to reach people on low incomes to improve their financial resilience. We have grown five-fold in 12 months and require a Team Leader to add to our brilliant team.

The London team includes staff who work remotely as well as staff who work from bases in the community and you will need experiencing of supervising and supporting both types of workers, ensuring that they are all achieving objectives and feeling engaged in the team and their work. You will have a role in gathering information from data gathered by the team for impact reports and in liaising with service commissioners and other service providers to ensure projects run smoothly.
To succeed in this role, you will need to enjoy being part of our small, committed team in job where you have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into hands-on day-to-day problem solving as well as contributing to strategic planning of how to achieve our vision. You must be able to travel around London to visit our bases in the community.
The essential skills and experience for this job are:
Experience of supervising or managing the delivery of support work, ideally in a setting that includes a mix of home-based and office-based staff
IT literacy, with the ability to use email and the Internet, ideally with experience of using a database to record information, although training will be given in how to use our Advice Pro case management system
Great communication skills, both face-to-face and in writing
An understanding of discrimination, equality and diversity issues, including those not covered by law such the "poverty premium"
A commitment to working in a professional manner to uphold our high standards
It would be helpful if you already have experience of working in the area of money guidance, employment support or digital exclusion, perhaps with IAG level 3 or equivalent, or can speak a second language, especially the language of any community affected by financial or digital exclusion.
Above all, you must be committed to Clean Slate's vision and mission of fair opportunity for all and helping people on low incomes to help themselves to become better off.
We particularly welcome applications from anyone with lived experience of struggling with poverty or barriers to employment.
The salary is £22,000 per year (including London Weighting) for a 30-hour week and we would welcome a discussion on how you would like to organise your hours. We have an incremental holiday scheme, occupational sick pay, an Employee Assistance Programme provided by Health Assured and all eligible staff are enrolled in our Workplace Pension Scheme provided by The People's Pension.
