RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is implementing a Data & Analytics platform to make the sharing, searching, transforming and on-boarding of data simple and efficient. Data is fundamental to the company's business model and will become an ever increasing asset in the future.As part of a new and expanding multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the company-wide initiative. We are developing a cloud-based platform and infrastructure using the latest tech, capable of cleaning, transforming and efficiently accessing data, running on-demand as well as scheduled models, and integrating with pre-existing technology.The initiative is sponsored by the Board and is a key enabler for the company's commercial strategy. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced individual to join us. Someone who will play a key role in shaping and building the platform as we scale it, influencing how it is built and the technical decisions we take. If this sounds appealing, then apply now!Take ownership of the end to end technical design of our Data & Analytics platform, covering the aspects integration of new use cases, robustness, maintainability of our strategic data platformShape and influence the technical delivery backlog with new ideas and enhancements and technical requirementsAct as the interface between the approx. 600 business trading users with their use cases, the technical delivery team, and 3rd party vendorsSupport business users to best leverage the Data & Analytics platformTranslate business requirements into a technical designAct as technical mentor for the multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers and Junior DevOps Engineers delivering features and enhancements for the Lead in Data, including quality assuranceWant to work in a supportive collaborative environment focused on delivering value to our usersBe a specialist for the End to End integration of our key components DataBricks, Dremio and the to be identified Data Catalogue component as well as TableauYou own their configuration and surrounding components and have an in depth understanding of data flowsIntegrate data flows from surrounding systems using state of the art technologiesBe a real technical problem solver, able to create awesome solutions for complex requirements with a hands-on attitudeKeep up to date with new trends in Data Analytics tools, always looking to new solutions to solve complex problemsYour powerful skillsSeveral years proven experience in the mentioned technical skillsFluent in English (verbal and written)A degree in, or related to Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent experienceSound experience in building and supporting robust and scalable big data platformsThe ability to translate business requirements into a technical designReview and further improve existing technical designsExperience in setting up, configuring and operating DataBricks and Dremio (or similar tools) in an (ideally AWS) cloud environment, including the integration of surrounding systemsHands-on experience with visualisation tools, particularly TableauPractical working experience in utilising and operating AWS cloud servicesProfound understanding of operational aspects like high availability, monitoring, security and robustnessExperience in DevOps best practicesHands-on experience with IaaS and PaaS in Amazon Web Services, including S3, Lambda, EC2, KMS, IAM, CloudWatch, EKS and ECSExperience in development and scripting (e.g. Python, Ruby or Bash)Advantageous, but not a mustAWS Certifications to professional levelKnowledge of skills in Cloud securityWhat we value most is passion, willingness to learn and a determined and resilient work ethicSo, if you can display most of the skills above, then we would like to hear from youBenefits you can rely onWorking alongside our traders and analysts on this initiative gives you the opportunity to shape the commercial business from an IT perspective!
