Tech Principle (Kotlin / Java)

We are looking for a highly-skilled and forwards-thinking high-level technical leader to join our agile product delivery team, and provide technical guidance and leadership to a number of cross-functional delivery pods tasked with building out our new platform.

• Develop a solid grounding in your understanding of the business and f amiliarise with the domain areas and systems with which your teams works
• Understand our overall architectural landscape and b egin driving the solutions coming out of your teams

Delivery:

• Providing direct technical leadership on large, multi-team deliveries
• Collaborate with our Product team to construct a roadmap that is both realistic and in-line with our business strategy and goals
• To help define and articulate the architectural vision and framework that will govern our approach to solutions, and to have oversight of the architectural solutions that your teams produce
• To mentor on approach and execution of solutions, coach on technologies, and work to establish a function-wide comprehension of solutions, capabilities, and direction
• To champion and guide the break-down of deliverables into thin vertical slices that support the early delivery of value
• To orchestrate the pro-active management of technical debt
  

You should have:

• 5+ years commercial experience working in software engineering teams, using Agile methodologies and test-driven/data-driven approaches
• A deep understanding of modern architectural patterns and designs
• A keen focus on creating customer value
• A results-oriented mindset
• Excellent communication skills
• A strong sense of accountability

You should be:

• Naturally collaborative and approachable
• Positive in the face of change, and an advocate for continuous evolution of the team and its capabilities
• Comfortable in holding difficult conversations, and skilled in approaching them in a forthright yet sensitive and constructive manner
