Job description

Facilities Management is part of the Estates and Facilities Management Service (EFMS) that is responsible for the development, operations and maintenance of the University's estate and related services. Through our activities, we seek effectiveness, efficiency and value for money in respect of all activities undertaken and all services provided to maximise client satisfaction and to improve the student experience. We also monitor and react to the potential impact of estate development and facilities provision on the local community and environment.

The successful candidate will join at an exciting time as the University launches its new strategy alongside campus development plans and new Hard and Soft FM contracts to be awarded for Summer 2022. We are looking for an excellent leader and communicator who is motivated to create and maintain high quality environments ensuring compliance in Health and Safety. A problem solver with considerable technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical infrastructure you will have a positive and professional attitude towards managing and prioritising workloads in a reactive environment alongside the skills to manage contracts, projects, budgets and change. The successful candidate will work closely with senior managers and provide strategic and operational management support and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders from within the service and across the University; and will be responsible for operational decisions which impact across the whole University Estate.
