SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 support for ASD - Barnet - ASAP Start

An outstanding Primary School in the Borough of Barnet are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working with a child in Year 1 who has been diagnosed with Autism / ASD. You will be working with the Year 1 child on a 1:1 basis. The child has behavioural difficulties, with behaviour and sensory needs, which you will support in your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

The role of SEN Teaching Assistant offers both challenge and reward in equal measure, and when working with a child on a 1:1 basis, they need stability, reassurance and confidence, both academically and socially. It would be ideal if you had previous experience working in a similar role and can discuss successful strategies for academic and / or social progress when working with children with SEN.

JOB DESCRIPTION - SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 support for ASD

  • £75 - £90 per day + healthcare package
  • Located in London Borough of Barnet

PERSON SPECIFICATION - SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 support for ASD

  • Must have a degree from a reputable University
  • Good understanding of SEN is required
  • Experience in a previous role, or personal experience with SEN, is essential
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN
  • Calm and compassionate nature
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and sensitivity
  • You MUST be able to commit until at least July 2022
