Your new role
As Victim Support Worker based in the Youth Justice Service, you will carry out work to support young people and their families to reduce offending and re-offending. You will:

* Manage a complex caseload of high-risk young people and Looked After Children subject to court disposals.
* Have a specific focus on victims of youth crime, with emphasis on using restorative approaches and using victim feedback statements in work with young people.
* Create bespoke one to one victim awareness inventions and support restorative approaches in your work.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a resilient and authoritative practitioner who places the children and young people in their welfare at the heart of their practice. You should have:

* A relevant qualification in relation to working with young people and\/or Restorative Justice
* Previous experience carrying out both one to one and group work with young people.
* Excellent written verbal and communication skills - including the ability to write comprehensive reports.
* Experience of making effective assessments to identify the needs and strengths of young people.
* Ability to respond effectively to young people displaying challenging behaviour.
