SEMH Teaching Assistant | Westminster

An impressive Westminster Primary are looking to appoint an SEMH Teaching Assistant to start working immediately in their fully inclusive school environment.

  • SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Full-time position, Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4pm
  • Minimum of a 2:1 degree within Psychology or closely related degree subject
  • Relevant experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs required
  • SEMH Teaching Assistant role starting immediately
  • Full academic year contract - £350 per week
  • SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs
This SEMH Teaching Assistant role is available to provide support to students who have severe difficulties in managing their emotions and behaviour. Due to the complex nature of supporting pupils with SEMH, it is essential you have the required experience and skills to effectively manage their behaviour.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the school's SEN Coordinator and Head of Inclusion, to support 11-16 year old students with SEMH needs. Your day-to-day role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant will involve providing emotional and academic support to pupils whilst working with them in class, or at times independently.

Pupils have varying SEMH needs and will require someone with tenacity, compassion, patience and dedication to allow them to achieve the best possible education. The SEMH Teaching Assistant role is suited towards a Graduate with ambitions to become a Child Psychiatrist, Clinical or Educational Psychologist.
