Senior Contracts Advisor (Wells)

Contract (Inside IR35)

London

Job Purpose:

• Supporting the Projects & Engineering and Wells functions in the development & execution of their procurement strategies, the composition and issue of invitations to tender, objective bid evaluation, contract negotiation, preparation and award of the final contract.
• Deliver effective post award administration and reporting, and contractor performance management.
• Develop and implement a local content strategy per contract

Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

• Ensure the company's direction of maximising local content and its delivery is clearly implemented in all contracts
• Review specifications and scope of work and further develop these into a clearly articulated expression of commercial intent.
• Ensure governance and compliance obligations are fully addressed and documented
• Responsible for contractor performance management
• Address variations and claims with contracts
• Provide support to contract owners and budget holders in support of the contract management process, post-award contractual interpretation and administration matters
• Provide regular management reports on activities
• Attend progress meetings and presents management updates
• Responsible for local content requirements in the C&P tender process ((strategy formulation, setting of LC questions, evaluation of responses, LC evaluation reports, drafting of LC obligations in the contract and providing feedback to tenderers).
• Undertake other duties within his or her capability or qualification level as may be reasonably required

Experience and Education:

• Minimum 10 years evidenced experience.
• Predominantly contracts formulation, negotiation, contract administration and post award management experience is required within the oil and gas industry. Complete understanding of significant legal and commercial issues within supply chain.
• International exposure within an oil and gas operating environment.
• Proven experience of managing contracts is paramount; with the following academic qualifications being advantageous; preferably to Degree level in a business, engineering or management related subject and CIPS preferred.
• Previous experience managing contracts for drilling activities or wells.
