A market leading off-site construction contractor with over 50 years in the build industry. They provide a diversity of works with a portfolio of high profile public and private framework projects with values in excess of £50m+ alongside an extensive list of future works in the pipeline.

As a highly experienced Freelance Design Manager you will manage the day to day design process of an already established new build student accommodation project in London with a build value in excess of £25m. You will manage the construction design team and liaise with the wider project team to ensure that all works are completed in line with the programme, to the client's specification and on budget.

Duties

Leadership and motivational skills
Managing the technical drawings and plans used to build the structure
Identifying efficiencies, risk or opportunities, working with operations and pre-con teams
Liaise with all members of the development team, from consultants to the sub-contractors
Managing external figures in order to arrange, fee proposals, appointments and variations
Bringing together architects, structural and service engineers, along with specialist designers and BIM technicians
Manage and liaise with building control and other specialist advisor packages as required to ensure compliance of all output to regulatory and project specification requirements
