Job description

Cyber Security Analyst

The key purpose of this role is to support the Cyber Security Manager and the in-house Technology team with cybersecurity operations and continuous service improvement, protecting the organisation's cloud technology platforms and data. The post holder will ensure that best practices for cybersecurity are implemented and documented, and that the organisation is compliant with regulatory and audit requirements.
Duties include managing the operational security toolsets including MIMECast, Bitdefender, Bluecoat, Tenable and Microsoft Office 365 Security and Compliance.

The role will embed regular reporting of the security performance of the technology infrastructure and report on exceptions or breaches of policies and procedures.

This position will be working with colleagues across the organisation and provide cover for the Cyber Security Manager when necessary.

The role include hands on activities to deliver and support the IT Strategy. The Security Analyst should have a number of years' experience in the security industry and hold a broad skill set enabling them to support numerous technologies quickly and effectively. Any professional security qualifications would be beneficial.

Key Accountabilities:

* Support the current Cyber Security Manager
* Demonstrate a passion for cyber security and experience in monitoring security controls
* Providing advice to the organisation, ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations and, generally, on information risk
* Experience of optimising security tool-sets - including antivirus (BitDefender), Office 365 Security & Compliance, vulnerability management and patching.
* Understanding of a broad range of security tools including but not limited to SIEM, Email Security and DLP.
* Delivering new cyber-security toolsets and capability as required
* Investigating cyber-security incidents and undertaking reporting\/remedial action as required.
* Maintaining risk, issue and change registers for cyber security.
* Supporting internal consultants on projects when required, advising on matters relating to cyber security.
* Maintaining currency with cyber security and cyber security enhancing technologies.
* Providing advice and take action, where necessary, in response to cyber security audit findings and recommendations.

Essential Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience or working in a cyber security role or similar position
- IP networking and network security
- Vulnerability assessment and tools (e.g. Tenable)
- Antivirus (e.g. BitDefender),
- Office 365 Security & Compliance features
- Understanding of a broad range of security tools such as SIEM, Email Security (Mimecast) and Data Loss Prevention tools.
